Below is an e-mail we recieved from one of our first sponsors, after visiting Sangkhlaburi from her homeland of Australia

Hi everyone

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Robyn and I, like
yourselves, am one of Daniel's sponsors.

I live in Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory and have just
arrived back from the most amazing trip to Thailand which included a
visit with Dan and the kids in Sangkhlaburi.

This visit compelled me to write to the rest of you and pass on what
I found.

The location is just beautiful, with jungle, mountains and greenery
as far as you can see. It is so peaceful. They have all worked
exceptionally hard to complete the home and village complex.

Daniel and the others work so hard and are extremely dedicated to
the children and determined to give them a better life. This
dedication shows, as the children are all happy, always smiling and
chatty and so eager to do their lessons and homework! It was just
great to see kids so young recognising that they have been given a
chance of a better life and appreciating it! They all help with
everything including clearing the planting sites, digging holes,
watering etc. The list is endless.

On arrival, I was greeted with "hello, what is your name" and "where
are you from" (the "how old are you" came later)! The cuddles were
endless, the whole welcome was just great. I have heaps of photos,
If anyone is interested I can send some on. The kids just love the
camera and love to see the picture you have just taken of them, this
was usually met with the wildest giggles and the request for "more,
more". They are just beautiful.

I hadn't met Daniel until not quite 3 weeks ago, I got involved in
the sponsorship program through my daughter, Erin, who worked with
him in Japan and I have to say it is something I will never regret.

Anyway, I have probably gone on long enough here. As I said I just
wanted to let you know what my impression of Sangkhlaburi was and to
say that you are all contributing to an extremely worthwhile cause
and should feel proud to be doing so. It seems that I am the first
sponsor to visit and would strongly encourage others to do so if
ever you get the chance. It was the most amazing experience. I can
assure you, you will be made most welcome.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Kindest regards

Robyn
